The young artist Sara Shamma was the star of the Lattakia Biennial where she harvested the first prize of painting. The jury agreed unanimously on granting her the prize in a Competition of works presented by artist from nine Arab countries. Because her work was dazzling and unique.

Sara's imagination tends towards universality that does not exclude memory. Her existentialist statement is related to the suffering of the lonely (I) rather than the (US) committed to the mass ideology.
Her creative flower springs from the general dryness that surrounds her generation, in time of recession, emptiness, and plastic arts inertia; her astonishment opposes commons methods and patterns thus she seems too dynamic for her twenty five years of age.
